"Embracing current events, part of the opposition is proposing, as its first issue, a parliamentary inquiry into the money injected to finance the ten-year flood control plan (PDLI). A commendable initiative, if ever there was one, because it falls within the scope of accountability."
It is Birahim Seck, Coordinator of the Civil Forum, who expresses this in a tweet.
But the Good Governance activist notes that this opposition "must also, in the very early days of its legislature, get the President of the Republic to lift his elbow on issues that he himself has said he blocked:
The conditions of entry of Dubai Port World to the Autonomous Port of Dakar, the concession agreements of the King Fadh Palace, FESMAN, the 495 billion of crude fuel for OLINDA cargoes purchased irregularly from the supplier APL, Prodac, Coud, the billions for the production of digital identity cards, the sale of the Maison du Sénégal in New York, the construction costs of the University of the African Future, the Sécuriport contract must be the subject, as soon as possible, of parliamentary inquiries," he lists.
“We have heard that ‘to suppress a case, you have to create a parliamentary commission of inquiry,’” Birahim Seck continued. He then expressed his hope that this adage would prove false during this legislative session.
